How to find a race on PodiumBase

Where to start

Start from the search on the PodiumBase home page, or go straight to Discover for the full directory and its filters. Either way you land on what is near you, worked out from your connection, and you can move it anywhere by setting a place.

The tabs split what you are looking at. Races and Activities are dated things you turn up to. Who to follow lists clubs and race organizers, which are not dated: each has its own page listing what it has coming up. All mixes them.

Narrowing it down

Set a place to search somewhere other than where you are. A named place searches around that place rather than the whole country, at a radius you choose from 10, 25, 50, 75, or 100 miles. Pick Any distance when you would travel anywhere for the right race.

The date row covers today, tomorrow, this week, and this weekend, and you can set your own start and end dates instead. The Who to follow tab has no date row, because a club or an organizer is not a single dated event.

You can also filter by sport and distance to separate a 5K from an ultra, or running from cycling and triathlon.

Browsing instead of searching

If you would rather read a list than work a filter, the hubs group races by place:

• Races by city and state for the United States, and country hubs for everywhere else.
• Group runs for recurring club runs rather than one-off races.

These are ordinary pages you can link to or bookmark, and they are the ones search engines index.

When your race is not there

PodiumBase lists races an organizer has published with us and races we have listed from public sources. A race can be missing because it has not been listed yet, or because it is listed under a different name or a nearby city. Try the organizer's name in the search box, or widen your radius before assuming it is absent.
