How to RSVP to a club run

What an RSVP does

An RSVP tells the club you are coming to one dated run. It adds you to that run's going count, which everyone can see, and it holds your place if the club has set a cap.

An RSVP is for that date only. It does not join the club, does not cover the next week's run, and does not sign you up for anything you pay for.

Not every club run takes RSVPs. The club decides run by run, so a run that has no RSVP control is simply one the club has not turned it on for.

How to RSVP

Open the run's page from your club's page or from group runs, then use the RSVP for button with that day on it.

You need a PodiumBase account, which is free and takes about a minute. If you are signed out the button reads Sign in to RSVP, and once you have signed in your RSVP is completed for you, so you do not have to find the run again.

Once you are in, the panel reads You are going with the time and the meeting point. Add to calendar puts the run in your own calendar.

Changing your mind

Use Can't make it on the run page. That releases your place so someone else can take it, and it works only before the run starts.

Tapping RSVP a second time does nothing. There is one place per person, not a counter.

When a run is full

If the club set a cap and it has been reached, the button reads Full. There is no waitlist to join and no place is held for you by tapping. When the run is one of a recurring series, the page offers the next date instead.

Places can open up again when somebody releases one, so it is worth another look closer to the day.

Why an RSVP might be refused

A few runs will turn you down, and the page tells you which applies:

• The run is for club members only.
• The run is no longer taking RSVPs, has been cancelled, or has already started.
• The last place went to someone else between the page loading and your tap.
• Your account is in the middle of being deleted.

If the page just says the run was busy for a moment, that is a genuine retry. Try again.

What the club can see

The club sees counts, not names. Your club organizer gets the number of people going and nothing that identifies you, and there is no attendee list or check-in sheet anywhere in their console.
